Founded in 2008, GYMGUYZ is a mobile brand that brings health and wellness services to the comfort of your home. You can tailor your practice for one-on-one training or inclusive group sessions as GYMGUYZ helps you reach your fitness goals. I got to interview GYMGUYZ Franchisee Tom Hirshberg to learn more about this concept.
How does your service work? Do I need to purchase a package? Or Individual sessions?
The first visit is free and includes the following:
- a body assessment
- a measurement assessment
- nutritional assessment
- a fitness assessment
- setting up your goals
Each session is one hour. That provides you enough time to get your body working to achieve your desired goals. Coaches arrive 5-10 minutes before the session to set up the necessary equipment for that particular day you are training.
Our packages of sessions are based on one’s goals and schedule. Whether it’s a short-term package of 10 sessions, or (for) one’s long-term goals we offer 100-session packages. Our pricing varies from $82 to as low as $62 per session. Our group pricing allows for lower cost per session for those who like to work out together.
How much time in advance do I need to schedule you?
Our clients like to have a set time and day pre-scheduled based on their busy lifestyle. Our coaches confirm their appointment 24 hours in advance and communicate directly with each client ahead of time.
Do you bring all the necessary equipment to my home?
Our vans are fully equipped with all the tools that will provide you with the most amazing workouts. We have mats, dumbbells, stability balls, resistance bands, boxing gear, body bars, pool apparatus and kettlebells to name a few pieces of equipment. Remember, we bring the gym to you!
How do you customize a routine?
Our coaches will create and customize every workout based on our clients’ abilities. Every client has different capabilities, age, past injuries, goals, etc., therefore, by customizing each workout it ensures we focus on our clients’ needs.
What is the perfect meal to eat post workout?
When you eat is just as critical as what you eat. Your muscles are like dry sponges after an intense workout, primed to absorb recovery-building nutrients. Optimal time to refuel is within 30 – 45 minutes after your workout.
Dynamic Duo: A combination of quality carbs and protein are essential to an effective post-workout meal or snack. With intense workouts, muscles become depleted of glycogen (a form of sugar stored in muscles to be used for fuel). Muscles are actually broken down during the workout. Carbs and protein aid in the repair and rebuilding of muscle on a cellular level. A quality fat source also helps your post-workout metabolism to remain high. You Gotta Like it! Your choices matter. If you don’t like a particular combination of carbs, protein and fat, chances are you won’t stick to having it.
